Heaven.

I am a born again Christian. When you think of the kind of christian most people HATE....that's me. When I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal savior My place in heaven was reserved. Hate me for it, but it's what I believe.

Hate you for it? I dont hate people because of religious choices.

Anyways I personally have no idea. Anyone can guess but no one really knows wats beyond the grave.

Not true, we are all so incredibly vile to the eyes of God that our works alone cannot save us. The only way to heaven is through Jesus. Belief as you wish though, despite what the Bible says...

O rly?

Last time I checked Christians, true christians, are hated more than every other religion. Most people would hate me for it.

And at puppyburger: It's not your acts. they are "bloody rags in the eyes of god" You could donate millions to poor or whatever, but it comes dowen to your belief of Jesus as your personal savior,and that you believe and know that to be true.

Call me a bastard for this, but I find it kind of funny hearing religious debates. It seems really infantile, like a big fantasy world people beleive in. To me, people arguing seriously about Jesus, God and Heaven, has the same effect on me as people talking about Golem, Gandalf and Middle Earth - laughter.

So many religions, so many Gods, so many stupid little diferences that set them against each other. Catholics, Protestants, Born again christian (well, we hate jehovas witness's more than you guys pablo Stick out tongue [:P])...blah de blah de blah. You all beleive in the one God, yet these religions still fight against one another. Do you HONESTLY think you're religion is the "correct" one? Do you think God thinks your religion is right and the rest are wrong? Yeah, cause that makes sense. Talk about your all-forgiving God, when no matter what you do, you can't possible do right by him.

My old RE teacher worded this perfectly (to the point where SOMETHING about christianity actually made some kind of logical sense) - God is all forgiving. He is willing to accept everyone into heaven. He is perfect, we are not. When we die and go to heaven, we will see God, but we will be so ashamed to be in his presence, we will spend time in purgatory untill we feel we are good enough to be in his presence, and then we will spend eternity in heaven.

That, ^^^, makes much more sense that "God will judge you all your life and only accept you if you're perfect."


After death - you're dead. Nothing more. I can't possibly explain it, since it's impossible to describe there being no feelings, no thoughts, no senses - nothing. I think that's why religions were created to be perfectly honest. We can't understand death, we can't understand being dead, so people created religions to give people hope they could still go on "living" some kind of afterlife. False hope.

well, If I am wrong ( I happen to not think so, but for hypothetical reasons...) and when I die, nothing happens. I'm still glad that I lived by the standards that where taught to me by the bible. ANd if none of the bible is true, I'm glad I had somehting to hold onto, something that I could believe in and could carry me throguh the best and worst of times.

About the differnces between religions. The way I see it is. The oldest translation of the  bible that we can get is the king james. Beyond that every other religion ahd modified it to suit ther needs *cough*catholosism*cough* < main offender. So If I believe in the best thing I've got, I think I'm good. I can't stand cult like religions like the catholics that change the bible when they feel like it so things are easier for them. Confesions = point less. Telling your sins to a mortal being...that has no power to save you....seems like a great idea to me! And the Catholic Hierarchy? let me se....nope, not in the bible...the "real" one that is.

So, I'm right your wrong!..jk =p

Maybe I should have taken your post tom and broke it apart posting my thoughts in between...like suds!, jk

I'm not sure if you know this, but the dead sea scrolls has proven that the Old testament has not been changed in any way by faiths such as the catholic faith.

Interesting read, basically what happened is that the texts of the old testament were found in an old cave. The interesting thing is that these very texts date back to 100 B.C. Way before even the New Testament was written. And the funny thing about what you can buy in the book store today and those texts are that there are no differences between them...
