i was with my friend when his dad told me this. The troops in Iraqi wanted Starbucks to send over 50 pounds of coffee. Starbucks said that they wouldn't cuz they don't support the troops.

1. "Supporting the troops" is an overused cliche used to get people to conform, luckily we don't have this overpatriotic *** up in Canada but it's true for down south.

2. It's called "rations", I'm sure they have coffee there and they wouldn't need to bother Starbucks, and even if they didn't want to give free coffee it's not that big of a deal, the government can afford coffee, so settle the *** down.

3. Your friends dad isn't a reliable source, next time find a link of somekind so someone doesn't have to point out your ***.

Just shows how sad the US is, with the average person out just to make money, at least up here in Canada we sent them Tim Hortons!  We support our troops.

I'm just glad that I don't go to Starbucks, they don't support the troops then I won't support them, it's rediculous that they wouldn't send them Starbucks coffee just because they don't support the cause, no matter what they are still citizens of your country and you should be more than willing to help them out.  Anyways, seeing as how patriotic you Yanks are, I'm pretty sure that Starbucks would send coffee over seas because saying you don't support the troops is a red flag.

As Jigsaw said, I highly doubt that this is true. If it were, Starbucks would be losing a whole lot of buisness (including mine). Just because your friend's dad said it, doesn't mean it happened.

I don't support the war, but I do support the people who are fighting. Many people are like that. I don't believe there are to many people who don't support the actual troops themselves.

Thanks, Crizy.

Yeah, I don't support the war, for many reasons that I won't go into right now.

But as for the troops, my motto has always been: If you don't stand behind our troops, feel free to stand in front of them.

I'm not a patriotic person, have no love of our presidency (the most corrupt ever I think), or this war. But these men are dying for a cause in which they believe, and for us. Whether you believe in the cause or not, you should support them.

To the sound
Of every first-born dying now,
Watch the rivers flow with blood
Death will stand where life once stood."

God damn, what ace just said is pretty much my exact feelings on this. My dad fought in the Vietnam war so I will always support the troops but I will not support war, especially this one.

I'm canadian, and I like both Starbucks and Timmy's, but I don't give a flying *** whether or not they support your troops. If I want coffee I'll get it, even though the fact that they don't support your troops does shock me a little. And don't say I'm desensitised to the issue because I'm canadian, half of my family is overseas. All this assuming your friend's dad is correct, of course.

Again, I don't support the either but. I support our troops. As for Starbucks not sending coffe? I don't belive that. Everytime I go there they ask me if I would like to give a dollar towards Sea Lions, Cancer etc. So to say that "They don't support our troops" Next time Get a Reliable source.
