GF to the rescue! Ehm. First off, talk to him as a friend. Just start with casual stuff 'hey, how are you?' or 'are you going to the dance/game/meeting' (whichever applies). Then you can move up from there to try to get into his interests 'hey do you like.....band name/game name/game system/tv show' (insert whichever applies). There are small cues that tell you that he likes you. When he smiles and laughs with you. When he opens up to you more about things (you know he REALLY likes you when he springs personal stuff on you like a secret or things going on in his life that are affecting him). You know a guy likes you when he goes out of his way to be nice to you and to be around you; though that's not always the way they are.  Overall it's just like how a guy has to see if a woman likes him, overall someone has to make a move eventually, you're pretty much stuck using your gut instinct.
