JMO: I like FF6 story, but I hate Kefka. Makes me happy that there was not any voice over in the series before FF10

*sigh* God of War? seriously? the game stepped a little above other action plot lines, but come on! there was maybe one plot twist, that never really changed what was going on in the present, it was just Kratos' past that kept it kind of interesting. it was shocking yes, but anyone can make up crap about a character's past. plus, they needed a narrator. sorry, but i just don't think its good fashion for video game stories to have narrators.

Beyond Good & Evil i agree with. i have accused the plot of being more shallow than it let on, best compared to buying a "family size" bag of chips to discover its only filled up halfway. its pretty linear, just the evil-looking government are, in actuality, evil, and helping the alien force thats invading your planet, while pretending they're helping you. but a somewhat linear plot doesn't mean it can pull you in like crazy with fantastic characters and writing. and yeah, there was definitely supposed to be a sequel. buy it, people!

I was surprised not to see Xenosaga up there. I've played the first episode and just got the second (which, by comparison to the first, sucks gameplay-wise, but i hear it gets better in episode 3. also mah disk is broke. gotta go back to EB games) though its a little bit hard to keep track of everything going on, if you don't play straight through, the characters are great and original, especially one of the enemies, Albedo, who spends about 5 minutes in one scene scaring a little girl in your party sh*tless through means like tearing off and stomping on his own head (it regenerates) and laughing like a horny hyena. hot times.

These people can't have played many decent games.  MGS had a good storyline, God of War was pretty good, but San Andreas wasn't anything special.  Sure, there was a big plot twist at the beginning, but Sly 2, which is a platforming game for ps2 had a similar plot twist, and had more to its storyline.  I must admit, I didn't see that coming, since Big Smoke and Ryder seemed like they were best friends with Sweet and CJ.  But beyond that, I knew CJ would end up killing Ryder, and eventually Big Smoke.  The game was pretty long, but if you take out all the moving around, and doing missions for various people, most of whom have nothing to do with the main storyline, you aren't really left with much of a plot at all.

Maybe these people should try some rpgs sometime.  I never played FFVI, but it looks like they haven't even played a SE rpg since then, let alone an rpg that isn't of the SE variety.  They could even just sit down and play the KH series, and they would have to re-evaluate that list.  Clearly they haven't played Persona 3, which is a shame, because it had an incredible storyline.  They should pick up FES in a couple of days, if they wish to discover the true definition of a storyline.

Life is an rpg, everyone has their own unique role to play.

As soon as I saw Portal I stopped. Are you freakin kidding me?

You wake up, go some tests, learn a giant robot killed everyone, kill aforementioned robot.

It's a great game, hardly a *brilliant* story.

I would agree with some of those.

MGS: Was way ahead of It's time that was such a AWESOME game, The boss battles were so INTENSE you just wanted to kill them...but after you did you felt bad because there so...innocent..Well sorta.

The battle with Psycho mantis was so brilliant, I mean who or how did they make him be able to read whats on your memory card?

And of course It wouldn't be MGS: without Snake, When you were playing Snake It was as If he was learning so much like a REAL person would, Even emotions such as Anger Love Hate Fustration Betrayal ETC.

The combat system was pretty neat too, you could do so many different moves from Choking Kicking Punching Snapping-Necks ETC

All those kick arse Gadgets like Heat vision goggles Night vision goggles Frags Stun grenades Map scramblers...Who could forget the Boxes.

Even the A.I was very impressive very LIFE like they would have such HUMAN reactions.

And the game came out In 1998" so MGS: WAS WAY AHEAD OF IT'S TIME .

THE PS3 IS ATTACKING

i think the plots they were looking for were plots that really pulled you into the story. Beyond Good & Evil, as i said before, has a relatively simple plot, but you feel very involved in everything that goes on, and the characters were very likable.

No Psychonauts = no profit. That game has an excellent storyline.

Meh, that site has shown me some of the gayest lists I've ever seen, so I'm not surprised it spewed out another one. Actually, this list was pretty decent, but still ended up phailing in some parts...

I was going to read the bible but got carried away reading Tom Clancy novels....what? He writes better fiction...
