I'm trying to find a game and I can't remember the title I was hoping somebody else might remember it. It was win95 (possibly win98). The basic story line is that aliens have landed and you need to defend the earth. your surgically inserted into a hovering base/mothership to use to fight the aliens you can also create multiple units and take control of them personsally. the only unit of 'money' is the amount of energy you have which can be collected by hovering over or near a power plant. in order to complete each level you must conquer several sectors on the map including a teleportation site and destroy all of the enemies.

It isn't Starcraft since he said the only money is energy and you have to fly over power plants to get it....plus Starcraft is bloody awesome.

You are correct sir. Through some esoteric fashion the name suddenly came to me. It's Urban Assault published through microsoft games copyright 1997. Thank you very much for the help anyway.
