Pole? I don't see any poles. I have not played any console games (well at least not much) because I don't own one but I think so far it would be Assassin's Creed or Crysis....I'm not sure, more games with better graphics are going to come out in the future and just buying a game for sheer eye candy is the dumbest idea that a gamer should have....

Crysis. Even playing it on high settings without AA, it's still the best looking game. As soon as computers can handle playing it with everything on very high and AA turned up full, it will be absolutely beautiful.
My System CPU: Q6600 2.7gHz Cooling: Scythe Ninja Mobo: Abit IP-35 Dark Raider PSU: Corsair 520HX Memory: OCZ 4GB (2 x 2GB) Case: Antec 900 GPU: XFX 8800 GTS 640mb

Lol probably. Well of course there are computers out there which could handle crysis with completely optimised graphics, but that technology is way out of our grasp and not really available to us, plus it would cost thousands and thousands of dollars and even then, it would need to be changed alot to be able to run windows. As for desktop, it'll be a year or 2 before we see the best graphics for crysis available right now. It's cool watching videos of barrel explosions, but they are only recorded at 1fps and sped up alot.

Screw that thought, we all know the graphics are top notch in text games.

You drank some potion.

The best graphics is debatable. There's realism, which is what some people associate with graphical quality, but there are different art styles. Some people prefer a certain art style over another, and they don't necessarily prefer realism. For realism, I was impressed with Heavenly Sword. Lair had good visuals, but it looked grainy on my sd tv. I attributed it to the fact that it's designed for 1080p, but my cousin played a bit of it on his hd tv, and it looked even more grainy. Turok had the worst visuals I have seen on a ps3 game, but some people said they were impressed with the visuals. I mean, the characters are detailed, but they look like they are made of rubber. For art style, hmmm. Well, FFXII for ps2 did it right, but so did Persona 3(I'm getting my copy of FES soon, but the shipment was delayed). Both games had an excellent art style. As you can tell, I'm playing more ps2 games at the moment, but ps3 should get some good games soon.

Sorry about the double post, but I was actually impressed with the visuals in that text based game I tried in IT class. Seriously, my teacher said that that's what they used to do before the first OS. He let us spend the entire class playing text based games. I played one called Adventure(wow, it must be old if they could make up a name like that without being sued for copyright infringement). I didn't like the game to be honest, because these kinds of games really tick me off when I can't figure something out. Also, I could fall down a hole and die, but I can't see the hole, so I can't tell if I'm about to walk into it. Actually, I think the hot chick(I can decide what the main character looks like) was crawling through something where you could fall in a hole for some reason, despite the fact that anyone would feel around if they can't see at all instead of crawling into a pit. Well, there were no visuals at all, but I could come up with the visuals in my mind. So the graphical quality was only limited to the extent of my imagination. In other words, it had visuals that are still way beyond current technology, despite the fact that this game is pretty old school(older than me).

Ah, the good old days of DOS, though the first computer my family had windows on it you always started in DOS, the internet was also text only, though I never used the net back then (was too young).
The text game I was actually referring to was the Strongbad text adventure, which I actually managed to beat (yes, I eventually did pick up the flask) those were pretty fun games, just like Dragons Lair (I think that's what it was called) where you had to type in the actions, it sort of worked like multiple cut scenes, though I couldn't type nearly fast enough to get far in the game....which I'm not going to look up and pray that it works on this POS...though I doubt it will.
EDIT: Holy crap, they've remade Dragons Lair....in HD! But screw the idea of forking over 50 bucks for it when I can get the old school one legally free....ah, bless abandonware.
