Bleach Episode 166 Impressions

I have to start with this. If your a Bleach fan, and you haven't seen this episode yet....WATCH IT NOW!
--SPOLERS ALERT--
Ok, now that I have gotten that off my chest, this has got to be by far one of the best Bleach episodes up to date. It is definitely the best in the Hueco Mundo arc, and is now one of my favorites. I'll start first off with the animations.
It seems as if the creators of Bleach have gotten themselves a new animator, because the animations in this episode are slick and look awesome. The amount of detail and smoothness comes on par with the first few Bleach episodes that were released. It seems as if the two weeks break has payed off well.
Now for what everyones been waiting for, the episode it self. If your a fan of the bloody, sword happy, one liner infused episodes then your in luck, this episode will be one of your favorites. It is about 15 minutes of pure battling it out, Ichigo and Grimmjow. When Ichigo first pulls his mask out, I was expecting another quick fight, but I was surprised and got treated to a fight fest that was purely amazing. There are some boring parts with Inoue of course, but overall the whole episode is just Ichigo and Grimmjow clashing with each other. Like it was said before, the animations of the episode really helped move the fight along, and made it pleasing to watch. And the conclusion to this episode will leave you wanting more, more, more, more....

I've never even heard of bleach until I came back to CCC. Can I get a run down of what it is? Real basic, don't waste your time on me, lol.

Kurosaki Ichigo is a boy living in japan who sees ghosts, and ghostly-beasties called Hollows. He then meets a Shinigami (death god) who kills hollows andhelps transfers souls peacefully to soul society (sereitei). The shinigami (Kuchiki Rukia) then transfers her powers to Ichigo when she is unable to fight and Ichigo's family is in danger. Ichigo goes all badass and kills it. Basically it's dbz with a better plot and characters, and with swords. Not to mention actually japanese being spoken, and not total cheese-factor.
To make up for the fact that my summaries suck, I'm going to bed to read...

Not to down on your parade but his name is spelled Grimmjow. You're talking to the Bleach Guru here (one who happens to be a HUGE fan of Grimmjow. Ask anyone from my forums, they know this as common knowledge).
Anyway, I've already read ahead in the manga so I know what happens n such (but I won't spoil it for anyone) and I have been looking forward to this battle. Initially (well from the preview two weeks ago), I thought the same as you, that they would show the battle for at most four minutes. But much to my surprise, they showed the battle for the WHOLE episode. Pantera Grimmjow is just *** badass, so of course I was happy. And I also loved that most of the fight was....well....fight. Normally in series they toss in a lot of dialogue between the actual fighting but not this time. Tons of fighting, tons of Grimmjow, tons of me being happy.
As for the animators, I don't know what made you think they changed over people, or that the animation changed, cuz it didn't. There was really only a couple episodes were the animation seemed off (and these were awhile back, the only one I can think of off the top of my head was with the kendo filler episode, with Urahara and the lollipop and Chad and Renji in that same convo).
Glad you enjoyed the ep though. Bleach = my permanent addiction.

agreed. i liked this fight as much, if not more than the fight with Byakuya at the end of the Soul Society arc. which is where they're at in the dub right now, so it's like double win this week. (too bad i hate byakuya's dub voice now) but yeah, there was a bit of sappy stuff in the background of the fight, but it ended up being kind of important, for both character development and the fight.

Hm, you pose a good question there Valkyr. Cuz I also loved BanKai Byakuya vs BanKai Ichigo from the Soul Society Arc. That was my favorite from that arc (seconded only two BanKai Byakuya vs BanKai Renji). But BanKai Ichigo vs Pantera Grimmjow...well I gotta say the latter is more badass. Simply cuz they're both at full power.
And pantera Grimmjow is badass >_> Now you see why I have a bit of a Grimmjow addiction. He's soooo badass, so 'I don't give a ***' and doing things his own way (even if it might get him in trouble later). And he's a total sadist, which I love. So many reasons to love Grimmjow, so little time.

You guys are what? At least fourteen I would guess, and yet you're
still watching cartoons? Grow the *** up guys. Don't you see what a
massive waste of time this is? Think about it... you're watching *** cartoons. Most people get over those things around the

I am shocked...Ace whats up with that?yes people like cartoons so what.I still watch a cartoon every once in a while.hell even my top two favorite shows are cartoons.why do I watch cartoons?why do people play video games?basically a reason could be to just get away from real.
Now I dont watch anime and I dont plan to.the last anime I watched was DBZ,back when I was like 8 which was 7 years ago.If people enjoy something let them do.I know you arent really doing anything about,but come on dont blow up on some one just because they watch a cartoon.
