My Lousy Job

IS it worth it?

So, summer vacation. You all know it. Friends, family, fun. The whole shibang. But another thing. Summer jobs. Every student's mad struggle to get a high paying job for the summer. I'm included. I'm pretty much guaranteed to get a job at this golf course where my brother and sister worked, the manager loved them. It's good pay (8.75 or something) and you end up getting a lot of connections because every member there is pretty much this rich old doctor, or psychiatrist, or photographer etc.. But my question is, is it worth it? I'd have to get my hair cut (similar to being neutered for me) and I'd lose most of my time. I also still have to write a resume. And some of the old people that go there are really nice, some are exactly the opposite... Basically, I need your opinion.

It depends if you need the money or the time to relax and hang out with friends. Personally I'd take the job. Extra money, meeting contacts and actually not wasting my time during the holidays far outweighs sitting around on my ass and wasting money during the holiday. If you do a good job then I'm sure your boss would be pleased to write you a recommendation towards your college. Colleges love to see students who go out and get active. Better yet, do the job for free, it will look good on your college application.

Thanks for the sig, Crizy.

Pros
Lots of money.
Good connections.
Good on your resume.

Cons
Need to cut your hair.

I'd do it.

I'm not sure where you live, but cutting your hair during the summer is not necessarily a bad thing. In my opinion I would take that job up in a minute(No cash flow at the moment). Seriously, its a fairly good salary, and it will look good on your resume. Take the job...
So bored...

When I worked at McDonald's last summer, as bad as it was, it still beat not having a summer job. Before being employed, I would just spend my summers at home doing absolutely nothing exciting whatsoever. Plus, bringing home a paycheck every couple weeks made it worthwhile. Big Smile [:D]

So you would be doing yourself a big favor by getting a summer job.
