When the colored dot on the screen line up, you press the corrisponding button, and flip the string thingy, repaet until the song is over. That's all anyone can say.

Well, try medium.

At first I couldn't do hard so I tried to 5 star every song on medium. Done that and then tried hard and found it much easier.

BTDT...?

Well, if you are saying that you have 5 starred every song on medium, then I don't get why you are having so much trouble on hard. The difficulty between easy and expert is very big, but there isnt that much difference between medium and hard. On hard you need to play a little faster, occasionally hit the orange note, do more hammer ons, pull offs and maybe once in every 10 songs hit a 3 chord note. It's really not that hard when you break it down.

Practice doing hammer ons and pull offs. I good song for this is Bull on Parade. Just reply the first section of the song. That goes like:

I
I
I
x

               x
I
I
I
x

  x

                x

Blue
to green is a pull off. Just practice that doing pull offs until you perfect it...then move on.

My name is Jonas has quite the crap load of hammer ons to.

I've only got 32 of the main songs done on hard, most of which only being three stars; play the game and try to find your own way of doing it, all you'll probably get from here is "play faster, get used to hitting the orange note every once in a while"  I also agree that you should at least four star every single song on medium before going to hard, but that should be common sense right....right?

I have been playing Guitar Hero 3 for like three months now and only could do easy for the longest time. Just keep replaying the songs you are stuck on and try to know what notes are coming up next. The main thing you want to focus on is being able to slide your hand (or finger) over to the orange note. If you can do that Hard should be no different from Medium.

Go to practice mode, pick whatever song you want, choose your difficulty setting, but play the song on "Slowest". The song will go extremely slow, but you should be able to play the hammer-ons easily, especially when they force you to go from orange to green, which you mainly just see in the Expert difficulty so, don't worry about that. Once you get the hand of that, up yourself up one and choose "Slower". The song will go slightly faster. Do the same thing here, and when you finally are satisfied with your results, keep upgrading yourself until you are finally playing the song on normal speed. By then, you should remember most of the notes, and will be able to pass it without being in practice mode. This is exactly what I did, and now, because of that little technique, I was able to get 90% on TTFAF on Expert. I say it works, no?

Also, try up and down strumming when notes are put close up together. It takes a lot of strain off of your strumming arm.

I was going to read the bible but got carried away reading Tom Clancy novels....what? He writes better fiction...

Just practice is the only thing I can tell you. I constantly practiced TTFAF and beat it on hard yesterday. (I realize I'm not awesome, but hey, beating it on hard is a pretty big acheivement for me).

It's just takes practice to master GH.

I'm currently stuck on "Before I Forget" and "3's And 7's" on the expert career. It'll take me a while to beat them.

Thanks, Crizy.

Holy crap, same. Those are a huge transition, and it doesn't help that my controller's worn from overuse. What were they thinking? Human fingers cannot move that fast...

I know that "3's And 7's" is going to give me the hardest time simply because of how fast you have to move your fingers and hand to hit the notes. Then I still have a whole new set of problems on the last tier.

Thanks, Crizy.

Last tier is actually easier for me than the Japan one. It shouldn't be, but one is a peice of cake.
