OK, so today I was at Target and I had the urge to buy something. I look into new linens, no. I go to the DVD section, nothing. Finally I go to the Xbox section and see that Mass effect is on sale for 50 bucks, So I say, "What the hell." So I come home, clean my house, put the disc in, and then it hits me, What the hell is Mass Effect? I know it is a RPG, but I am not entirely sure what that is either. SO I was wondering if there was someone kind enough to explain a few things:
What is Mass Effect?
Is it a good game?
What is the point?
How long is the game?

What is Mass Effect? its an RPG game like Oblivion, you try to stop a rogue agent and uncover what hes try to do.
Is it a good game? yes it is a very fun game
What is the point? trying to save the galaxy maybe
How long is the game? depends on if you go thru all of the side quests, then it is pretty long but if you go straight thru the story mode its pretty short.

Thanks, I've been looking around on the official site and on Xbox.com and I think I will enjoy the game. I played through the first 15 minutes yesterday, and it seemed all right. I'll just have to wait and see till I am further in the game.

That means you are either an Adept (Biotic Specialist), Vanguard (Biotic/Combat) or Sentinel (Biotic/Tech) I got the game about 2 weeks ago on monday and I am already on my second playthrough. I went in with the Vanguard (Biotic/Combat) and it is sweet lifting the huge Geth with lift and then using the shotgun. If you have any questions, I will do what I can to help.

Just as a heads up, If you play as the vanguard, you have a shield recharge that has prevented my death at least 50 times so far. Very useful to have.

How long is the game you ask? However long you want it to be...honestly.
I completed it in 12 hours +...but I've still racked up close to 30 hours with the game with much more still to come.
A word of advice, take this game slow. If you want to enjoy the game then don't rush it. Do the side missions, check out every corner of the galaxy. It's so worth it. Multiple play throughs are kind of required to get the most out this game though.
