Well actually you guys are looking at two different things in terms of unemployment lol. Rael you are looking at Fine Arts which you are right has a 1.7% rate but Uncle Sam is looking at the Art and Design department and that is where he is getting his 8.2%. I dont where you are getting though the 39% satisfaction rate Uncle Sam because i scanned through all the professions on your source and there isnt a single 39% at all there. Now Rael you are indeed correct on the salary on Fine Arts. But Uncle Sam if you are still looking at the Art & Design department then that starting salary is $40,449 which is not bad at all for starting. Thats quite a bit better than a few other majors (sucks for the people in Zoology it looks like.....they are starting out at only $20,000 among a few others).

I meant 29% which is still below average. Key words, few. Zoology is an unpopular major. Click on the starting major link and it will give a list of people in which most are still not in the major.

I've looked in her room and she has some of the same sex toys and she has written in her journal that she is into that same kind of fetish. What should I do?" - Pablo on Yahoo answers

But still Uncle Sam, those percentages pretty much scrap your whole "art is bad" theory.

29%
As in for every 100 people, 29 hate their job. That is low compare to the good 85%.

So? Plenty of people hate thier job, whether it is art or not. People hate thier job because it isn't interesting to them, and you can't just point to art and say, "see, they hate thier job, so art is bad." People hate jobs in every field, it doesn't matter.
Also, I noticed on all the surveys of people in the fine arts major, it never reaches over a hundred people. This is no where near enough people to actaully gauge the whole American populace. You need at the very least 1000 people, and that doesn't even really give you an accurate number.
For someone who knows so much about research, it sure seems funny how poor your research is.

I don't really see a problem with art in public schools or colleges. I took art in Grade 9 and Grade 8 but then I found out it was stupid and I could use that extra block to do something useful for myself, and my future. If people really want to take art, let them take it.

Again, I made this thread a year ago to spark controversy.
