I think im going to buy some Dark Tower books, ill try the first one and if i like it, buy the rest, i really do like misery lol, i read it for like 3 hours last night lol...=D

Anyine read any James Herbert books, i have some of those which I havent read... has anyone read James Herbert ~ Creed..?

you should be careful with the dark tower books. mainly the first one... from what i've seen talking with others, most people HATE the first one. imo its the best one so far, but whatever... anyways, im just saying, maybe you should like get the first one from the library first. if you dont happen to like the first one, just keep reading anyways, its way worth it. especially in book four (its a love story, but it was done SO well). if you like the first one, GREAT.

how far are you in Misery? its awesome. wait till annie starts talking about her "laughing place"... so *** creepy. and then the part where she "takes care of" the police officer with her "riding lawn mower". really good part. and the ending is in the book is way better.

The Dark Tower series is my favorite series of all time, and I can't really say which one is my favorite, although I'll agree with stealth number 4 is excellent.  I haven't really heard this not liking the first book, but I can't really say I've talked to a lot of people who have read it.  It is one of my favorites though, because of it's surreal feel, which they all have, but this one is like reading a dream.  You have no *** clue what is going on or what anything means, just that Roland is chasing the Man In Black across the dessert (this is not giving anything away, that information is givin to you in the first sentence).  Of course, I'm sure this dreamlike feel and total lack of understanding what is going on and what anything means is why many dislike it.  If you don't like the first, keep going, the second one is totally different, and it isn't really long anyways, the first one that is.  By the end, you'll be reading an almost 900 page book, but is is so worth it.  Also tom, if you're going to read them, pay an extra bit of money for the larger veriosn with the picrures in them, that is also definetly worth it (espeically the pictures in books 1 and 7).  Can you tell I like this series yet?

Nothing wrong with being a slow reader, I read all the time, and I'm not that fast.  I can read very fast, but it just takes away from the pleasure of reading.

we should start a stephen king thread and just talk about his books there.

this is probably the longest thread in the books section.

the first stephen king book i read was firestarter... i was your age too when i read it. fortunatly for me i've always been one of those faster readers... not to sound like im bragging, most people call me a nerd for that.... well *** them!

anyways, your a little farther than you think, story wise that is... alot of the book is inside pauls mind, and how much he hates annie, and want to kill her and what not. there is ALOT that is not in the movie though, so dont be surpirsed when it starts to in a totally different direction.

i never read the book though i intend to but the worst scene in the movie by far is the sledge hammer ankle scene, god that made me squirm in my seat.
