Some multiplayer stuff similar to what venomcarnage posted.
There are 15 multiplayer game modes in GTA IV.
PSM had an opportunity to play 7 of them. The rules of each game are
determined by the host. Multiplayer supports upto 16 players.
Your online character is fully customizable. You can alter his race, sex, hair, clothing etc. The game modes featured are as follows:- Hangman's NOOSE
- Car Jack City
- Bomb da Base
- Bomb da Base II
- Mafia Work
- Team Mafia Work
- Deathmatch
- Team Deathmatch
- Turf War
- Cops n Crooks
- Race
- GTA Race
- Deal Breaker
- Free Mode
- (some other mode?)
In Race and GTA Race,
the host gets to decide which vehicles are involved, and the number of
laps to be played. You can shoot and throw molotovs from the window,
and even steal your rivals' car. In Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch,
the host gets to decide whether the police can intervene or not. The
host also gets to decide the number of pedestrians, the amount of
traffic, and the type of weapons.
In Cops n Crooks,
one team play as cops and the other play as criminals. The cops must
stop the criminals from escaping. They can monitor the locations of the
criminals on their GPS systems, while the criminals have no idea where
the cops are.
In Mafia Work and Team Mafia Work,
you play as one of Kenny Petrovic's mafia henchmen. You must complete
hits ordered by the boss (via the cellphone) before your rivals are
able to do so.
A single-player mission called
"Hangman's NOOSE" features co-op. You and your friends will be able to
escort a mobster, while being pursused by a SWAT team.
I like the free roam mode along with customizable characters. Sort of like home but with more blood...

So, since this is the offical thread now, How is GTA going for all of you guys? So far I have not gotten very far. I am right before the date with Michelle, but I have played online and have fallen in love with it. I have played Free mode and it is amazingly fun. What I have been doing is going around and running people over and just drving off.

Ive been playing for hours and its really great. I can just stop somewhere and jusst sight because of the high level of detail in the game. Plus the new physics make the peds act a lot more real and they react much better to injury. Kind of makes me feel bad for hurting them sometimes...

I've mainly been playing around with the physics and killing myself off in humourous fashion. You can also re-enact all the best cartoon deaths in this game, earlier I stopped a car on a 4-lane road to car-jack a guy. I pull him out of his car and toss him into the next lane just as a large car went speeding through. The impact was quite amusing, looked pretty much as you'd expect that sort of thing would look.

Free roam so far is what I have been doing, There is this group of guys I was playing with earlier and they were really into suicide pacts. So we would go on top of tall building by helicopter and jump off for fun...We were at it for nearly three hours.

Well, I could go on and on and on on how much I have fallen in love with this game, but I won't bore you, but I will ask this...have you had some bad glitch problems...okay, maybe not bad, but occasionally the enemies will all the sudden turn invisible and the only way to see where they are is to lock onto them. Had this or simular problems?

I dont think you can install it on your 360...At least I didn't. As for the glitches thing, I have not encountered the one IG is referring to, but sometime when I walk into a room, such as a bar or bowling alley, it takes the lights a couple of seconds to turn on. It is not a problem but more of a very minor inconvenience. Other than that, I have had no problems at all.

I had a crazy glitch today - funniest moment so far. I was crusing down Algonquin (sp?) Bridge trying to get the wheelie achievement, when a police car pulled out in front of me. I expected to fly over the handle bars, but no - I literally flew about the height of the bridge and about half way across the second island before smashing into a building and dying. It was amazing.
Another thing which is fun to try online, get a load of mates in a helicopter of water then all jump out at the maximum height - it's so funny watching them all fall.

Something similar happened to me. I was driving an ice cream truck when it suddlenly launched about 100 feet into the air after I hit a building, it then landed on the building.
That happeneed to me in another rockstar game. I was playing midnight club 2 and my car launched about 200 feet in the air. Crazy stuff.
