Yeah I fugured.I have read all but the 7th of those too.Only difference is that the last Dark Tower is already out,I just have to read it.

Well the first five are,but then just recently King finished writing the series.It was 15 or 16 years in between.

The first one came out in 1970 something, maybe even 1970 on the dot, the last one came out in 2003 or something. How old are you Satomi? I'd recommend you be at least 14 and smart. Able to comprehend things, understand big words, or be willing to look them up, and appreciate good writing. I plan to re-read these books when I've read all of his books that are related. The main ones that should be read before reading this series are: The Stand, Salem's Lot, Hearts in Atlantis, and Insomnia. I've read Insomina and Salem's Lot and seen the Hearts in Atlantis movie along with reading a bit about the book and knowing more about it too.
So yeah, tell me how old you are. These books are fantasty I guess, they are more of a genre of their own though. They are full of allusions and symbolism about our culture and world. If you don't know what an allusion is... look it up, you'll need to be well practiced in the whole looking thigs up probably.
By the way, Roland, have the Stephen King's The Dark Tower: A Concordance if you have any questions about what words mean and whatnot. Like commala has about 15 definitions and all those Ka words can get confusing.

Actually I never had a problem understanding it.When I raed a book,I get really into it.Rarely ever do I get stuck on something in a book.The only time it ever happened was when I was reading Julius Ceasar by William Shakespeare.And have you finished the last one yet Ace?

My post was aimed at Satomi. I never looked up words, but many people should. And I have 100 pages left. I'll finish it this week. Let's continue this in the other thread. I like it better for some reason... don't know why.

Well you may not even like it.It just depends on your tastes.And something gives me the feeling you wouldn't like it.There is a darkness to it and it is very complex.It is nothing like Harry Potter at all.So if you like it great.but i am just saying you may not.It is one of my favorite series though.

You mean like Shakespeare crap?Come hither or thou wilt perish amongst thine own pride.That kind of stuff?No it doesn't.But it is really for adults.There are hidden meanings in everything and there are some "adult situations" if you get my meaning.But you will be able to tell just by the first book.It makes a great representation of the rest of the series.It has the same type of content as the rest of them so you could always read the first one and stop there if you wanted.It is up to you though.Why don't you do a search and find some info on it to help you decide.
