03-26-2008, 11:17 AM ShadowLink1 Joined on 03-25-2008 Hyrule Best Game on GameCube I missed my chance to post my thoughts on this subject. As well as saying what my favorite character is. So I'm posting it anyway. Hands down the best game on GameCube is LOZ: Twilight Princess. I saw that someone had said that SMSB: melee was the only game worth buying for GameCube. SMSB: Melee blows something serious. It's a little kids game as far as any fighting game is concerned. Besides you're missing out on a lot of good games like; Metriod Prime 1 & 2, RE4, etc. Of course this is a matter of opinion saying that SMSB: Melee stinks. If you think GameCube games aren't worth buying I wonder why you even play or why you even came into these threads. My favorite GC character is Midna from LOZ: Twilight Princess. Through out the game til late in the game I questioned her motives on helping me and I wondered if she would eventually stab me in the back. She seemed sinister, while she was using Link to work towards her own goals. I saw someone make the comment "Yoshi and Mario are nintendo trademarks." Duh, all Nintendo characters are trademarks of Nintendo (minus the few games that are on all the other consoles aswell). Mario was floating in the water with GameCube because of SMSB and I think that is mostly because a lot of people other than little kids most of been really bored to really think those games rank in the top lists of any number. There are only two games that got their own cartoon shows. I'm more direct and only saying for GameCube. There are way too many games for me to say for anyother system. Pokemon. though me and another member (Roland) can't seem to decide whether the game came first or the cards. i'm just saying the show seems really dependent on the game. also, on melee, i appreciate you saying its a matter of opinion, and seeing as you're comparing it to a regular fighting game, i understand your opinion. but where else are you gonna see Ganondorf beat up a Jigglypuff?... where? seriously, its kind of a platforming-fighting hybrid that lets embrace our inner fanboy, also it's a hell of a lot of fun with three other people. here are my favorite games (shadowlink, you're lucky you can make intelligent posts, otherwise i'd be avoiding this thread) Tales of Symphonia: mind-blowing story, albiet its a heck of a lot like FFX for the first ten hours, but that's out of forty, with a unique fighting system, and some real quality voice actors (including one of the original ninja turtles playing the games biggest badass) Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean: more mind-blowing story, less quality voice-acting. but it has a card-battle system that works much better than most. Skies of Arcadia: Legends: sky pirates, Vyse, Aika, and Fina try to get these magic crystals. doesn't sound original, but there's a lot more to this quest than that. also, the ship battles alone make the game worth playing. and unlike most gaming pirate-wanna-be's (points to "Rogue Galaxy") these guys are actually pirates. Sadly I've nver heard of those games though they all sound pretty interesting. I avoided the first too because they were too expensive at ther release, near the gamecube's end anyway, but picked up the last one and never looked back. If I'm going to play a fighting game I'm going to play my xbox and play some DOA, or anything else that deserves to be in the fighting game genre as far as I'm concerned. Don't get me wrong Melee is entertaining, and fun to play with a roomful of friends. However it is no where near th best or only good game that some few people claim that it is. Everyone that believes that should just walk outside their homes and just give their GC to some random person. I'm sure that person would better appreceiate the console rather than letting it sit there not realising it's full potential. I think people who think that should goto a game shop and buy another game, take Melee out of their console and try something new. The last one I played I think it might have been on one of the new consoles.
