Italian Government Tries to Gain Rights to Mario Franchise* Rated Excellent [5 out of 5].

In an interesting turn of events, the Italian government is now trying to make a profit of the popular Mario franchise.

“For long enough, people have been enjoying the wonderful Italian plumber duo,” Giovanni Francioni, a high ranking parliament member, stated. “Yet, the truth is that Mario and Luigi’s roots are in Italy not Japan. We want to bring some of the revenues of the duo to our beautiful country.”

Nintendo is clearly outraged about the impeding lawsuit. “They have no rights to our adorable duo!” the press release exclaimed. “We will fight this to the end.”

“In the end, I believe Mario and Luigi would want some of their billions of dollars to go to their homeland,” Francioni sighed. “I truly believe it.”
